SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A whole new golf experience is set to open this week in Shreveport as David Toms will break the seal on his new golf academy this Friday.

The academy, also known as 265, will include a 9 hole par 3 course, a massive 18 acre driving range and they will be 8 greens dedicated to putting and chipping.

It is not a traditional course, but more of a training academy for adults and children. There will be several instructors on staff at the 60 acre facility.

Toms named Shaun Webb as his director of instruction on Monday. Toms says the course will be once of a kind.

"There is a method to the madness that you see going on out here. Every shot, every chip, every slope and every green and every bunker placement was created for a reason and it was created to be able to learn to hit different shots."

The academy is located at 1111 Academy Dr. in Shreveport off Bert Kouns.
