The suspect surrounded by police in Shreveport's Morningside neighborhood Tuesday afternoon and into the evening is in custody.
Police and local members of the United States Marshals Task force were contacted last week by Dallas homicide detectives about 21-year-old Patrick Russell, wanted for the murder of 2 people and is described as armed and dangerous.
Russell also has a Caddo Parish warrant for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
SPD Special Response Teams had the house in the 3000 block of Drexel St. surrounded for more than 3 and a half hours before Russell surrendered without incident just before 9 p.m., walking out the front door with his hands up.
Police say they established contact with the man using a phone they got into the house.
Once he was out, they searched the house and found no weapons, and no one else inside.
Streets in the surrounding area remain blocked off, as police continue to search the area as a precaution.
Police have said Russell is from Shreveport and has several addresses in the Queensboro area. Russell also has family around the Buncombe road area.
He has been booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on 1 count of simple battery and 2 counts of aggravated assault, in addition to the warrant out of Caddo. He is being held without bond as an out of state fugitive.
