I-369 unveiled as new spur of I-69

TEXARKANA, TX (KSLA) -

The Texas Highway and Transportation Department unveiled the Interstate 369 on Jarvis Parkway in Texarkana Monday.

The ceremony officially designates the 3 ½ mile stretch of road as a spur for future Interstate 69. A member of the I-69 coalition board, James Carlow, local leaders have been working on this project for more than 20 years. "Well, we can advertise Texarkana as having three interstates and it is not many places in Texas can do that or in the country can do that. So, it's a big marketing tool for us to get industry to look at us," says Carlow.

Interstate 69 will run through Texas parallel to US Highway 59 through Houston to Teneha and split to Shreveport and Texarkana.
