A tree down at Linwood and Camille streets in Shreveport leaves one lane of Linwood shut down.
Just over 5,500 SWEPCO customers in Arkansas, Texas and Louisiana were without power Friday night as a line of soaking storms passed through the ArkLaTex, with more than 2,600 of them in Bossier Parish.
While most are most certainly welcoming the rain after weeks of heat and drought, the rainfall brought by Friday's cold front is bringing down some trees and some roads have become flooded. Some parts of the area have seen 4" or more of rain.
Street flooding has been reported in the 1600 block of Barksdale Blvd. and on Old Minden Road at Preston Boulevard. These roadways typically flood during incidents of heavy rainfall. City Public Works crews have place signs at both locations warning motorists of high water.
Bossier became the first parish in Northwest Louisiana to lift its burn ban early Friday afternoon. The ban was also lifted in Camp County in Texas. The rest of the bans remain in place until further notice. Click here for updated burn ban information.
