Mayor Glover to announce Civil Rights 50th Anniversary events schedule
Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover held a meeting back in July to announce the 50th Anniversary Civil Rights celebration would be held in September.

Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover is set to announce the schedule of events for the week-long celebration of the Civil Rights Movement 50th Anniversary.
Mayor Glover and the North Louisiana Civil Rights Coalition will kick off the commemoration with a formal presentation of the activities Tuesday. The activities include a memorial service, commemorative parade, a forum for students featuring local civil rights icons, NAACP banquet and a worship service.
The announcement will be made at Government Plaza located at 505 Travis Street at 10:30 a.m.
