Police in Texarkana say they have nabbed 3 of the culprits in a rash of aggravated robberies at local convenience stores over the past month.
22-year-old Cody Copeland and a 14-year-old male are now charged in connection with the holdups, which includes the armed robbery of the EZ Mart in the 3900 block of Jefferson St. on September 10.
In that robbery, there were three bandits. The employee says they confronted her with a gun. One of them jumped over the counter and tried to get into the register but was unsuccessful. The two others gathered items around the store and put them into backpacks they had carried in with them.
Copeland is charged with three counts of aggravated robbery. The juvenile male faces 5 counts of aggravated robbery and one count burglary. Police say another juvenile male has been arrested and charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution, which is also a felony.
Police say the investigation continues and more arrests are expected.
