BLOOMBURG, TX (KSLA) -

The Cass County Sheriff's Office and Texas Rangers are investigating a shooting Saturday that left a woman dead and her husband injured.

Cass County Sheriff Larry Rowe says the sheriff's office received a 911 call from the couple's 12-year-old son around 2 a.m. Saturday, telling police that there was a shooting involving his mother, Jean Ann Haltom and his father, Christopher Phillip Haltom.

The first deputy arrived at the home on CR 4921 in Bloomburg and found Jean Haltom in the master bedroom, and her husband wounded in the living room.

Paramedics determined Jean Haltom had not survived. Christopher Haltom was conscious, and flown by Air Life to St. Michael's Hospital for treatment. Once he was treated and released, he was taken to the Cass County Sheriff's Office for an interview.

Jean Haltom's body has been sent for an autopsy.

As of Monday morning, there had been no arrests, but Rowe says the investigation continues.
