Three families have been displaced after firefighters battled a massive fire at an apartment complex in Texarkana, Texas Thursday morning.
Fire officials say the fire started around 1:30 a.m. at the Cedar Ridge Apartments in the 4600 block of Summerhill Road. Officials say only one of the four apartment units was heavily damaged by the fire.
Investigators believe the fire began outside of one of the apartment units. The fire then spread into the attic.
Three other apartments had smoke, water and sheetrock damage. Firefighters cut a hole through the roof to fight off the flames in the units.
Officials say each family has been given another apartment to stay in for the night.
No injuries were reported.
The owner of the apartment complex tells KSLA News 12 the apartment complex has never had any electrical issues before. The apartment complex is about 30 years old.
He says he suspects a cigarette may have caused the fire but the cause is still undetermined.
