Computers donated by locals, to locals, to help them find work

Women attending classes at the Christian Women's Job Corps in Tyler have 16 new ways to work.

Mentoring Minds donated 16 used computers and partnered with a local company, Wood Network, to clean the computers for use.

Women will be taught computer skills so they can better compete in the job market.

Many of the women who attend did not graduate from college, but according to Director, Kathy Gohmert, they will leave ready to compete with college graduates.

"They improve with their abilities we want to be able to reflect that and having these computers available to them and accessible to them at home and at work and at school, here at The Job Corps, will enable them to just enrich their life and their job searching skills," Gohmert said.

The computers were a combination of Dell and Apple products and they also received a new server.

Wood Network will continue to work with the group to add licensed software.
