TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

There's a new millionaire in Smith County.

Lynch's Food Store at the corner of Highway 64 and Old Henderson Highway sold a Powerball ticket that turned out to be worth $1 million.

The quick-pick ticket was a second tier win, which means five of the six numbers were a match. The winner, Carlos Gean, of Tyler, was a regular customer who would buy $10-$15 worth of tickets every week.

The ticket was purchased on August 24. When the winner came back to scan his ticket to see the results, the store's owner, Joe Lynch asked him to come to the office. Gean thought he was in some kind of trouble before Lynch told him he won.

But it turns out there was a problem.

"He went in to collect and apparently his driver's license was expired or something along that line. He didn't get it right away so he had to get his license renewed," said Kenny Majors, a store clerk.

That ticket matchedall of the numbers drawn (12-17-25-45-59) except for the Powerball (19),making it worth $1 million before taxes.
