Bossier City police say a dangerous murder suspect has been taken off the streets in Bossier City.
28-year-old Eldrick Dontrail Carter of Monroe was wanted in connection with a shooting at a family gathering on Father's Day that left one man dead and two others injured.
After Carter was named as the suspect, police say he fled the Ouachita Parish area and has been on the run for the past few months.
Carter's arrest Thursday morning was the result of combined law enforcement effort involving members of the United States Marshals Violent Offenders Task Force along with Louisiana State Probation and Parole and the Bossier City Police Department.
Agents were able to track Carter to an address in the 2100 block of Scott Street in Bossier City where they took him into custody without incident.
Carter was booked into the Bossier City Jail as a fugitive from Ouachita Parish, and charged with second degree murder and two counts of attempted second degree murder
He was later transferred to the Bossier Parish Maximum Security Facility where he awaits extradition. His total bond on the warrants is set at $1,250,000.
