HAUGHTON, LA (KSLA) -

The Bossier Sheriff's Office and Louisiana Livestock Brand Commission are asking motorists and residents to be on the lookout for a bull that got loose in the Haughton area Wednesday afternoon.

A 1,500 pound, 2-year-old white Charolais bull got loose from its owner's trailer while at an animal clinic on the 5600 block of Highway 80 in Haughton just around noon today.  Deputies, veterinarians and volunteers have been searching for the bull, but have yet to locate him.

The bull was last seen heading south into the woods behind the clinic, and authorities at the scene are asking folks to be on the lookout.  They believe the bull is somewhere between Highway 80 and I-20 and Highway 614 and Highway 157.

Although the bull doesn't pose a direct threat, drivers are asked to use precaution if you are driving in those areas, especially as night approaches.

If you see the bull, the Bossier Sheriff's Office asks that you contact them immediately at 318-965-2203, and they ask that you please do not approach the bull.
