One dead in N. Shreveport stabbing, no charges filed

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A local man has died following a stabbing Tuesday night in north Shreveport.

Shreveport police say officers were called to a home in the 1600 block of David Raines Road just after 7:00 p.m.and arrived to find 32-year-old Frank Smith with a stab wound to the abdomen. He died shortly after arriving at LSU Hospital.

Investigators learned the man had been stabbed during an argument with someone he knew while at the home. That argument, which police say was with 51-year-old Carl Love, turned physical when Smith allegedly attacked Love with a blunt object. Love reportedly stabbed Smith in response.

Love was questioned at SPD headquarters and released. No charges have been filed at this time. Police say the investigation continues.
