Saturday night Hooks Texas Police officers were called out to a home in the 200 block of Grant Street for a domestic dispute Saturday night.

That's where they found Justin Wright, and Whitney Hanes in the front yard. Hanes was on the ground and not moving according to police.

Wright, who reportedly shares children with Hanes, is now charged with her murder.

Over the weekend more than 150 family and friends gathered to remember Hanes. While holding candles some participants talked about Hanes' kindness and warm personality.

Investigators believe Hanes died of blunt force trauma with an edged weapon- a violent death that has shocked this Bowie County community.

"Everyone is family with both the victim and the suspect in this case, and the children involved and it's just a tragedy that affects everyone in different ways for different reasons," said Hooks Police Chief, Keith Schutte.

Investigators are still working to piece together exactly what happened that night, and what lead to Hanes' untimely death.

Wright is being held in the Bi-State Justice Center in Texarkana, Texas on a 500,000 dollar bond.
