Cash taken during robbery at Tyler gas station

TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

According to police, Friday night at approximately 9:40 p.m., officers responded to a commercial robbery at the Food Fast gas station at 6424 S. Broadway in Tyler.

Upon their arrival, the store employee's said that a black male entered through the front door.

Police say once he was inside, the suspect grabbed one of the workers and demanded money from the cashier. One of the suspect's hands was covered with some type of rag or shirt and police say it appeared to be a gun underneath.

An undisclosed amount of money was placed inside a bag.

The suspect then fled the scene and went East bound behind the store.

Just before the robbery occurred, police say one of the employee's observed an older white model white, 4 door sedan parked behind the building. The suspect's face was concealed with a light colored stocking cap.

The suspect was described as a black male, between 5'8''-5'10'' tall, and approximately 150lbs, with black hair. He did have goatee and was wearing a dark brown sweater, and dark pants.

The employees were unharmed during the incident.
