Attorney of cleared fire fighter speaks out

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

The attorney for a Shreveport firefighter possibly connected to a sex scandal investigation into fire house eight is speaking out. Logan Kerr is now back at work after being suspended from the fire house. Kerr, along with Derrick Harris, Billy Glass, Clint Richardson and Jason Vaughan are all mentioned in an affidavit claiming inappropriate behavior at the fire station. Harris, Glass, Richardson and Vaughan are all charged with cruelty to the infirm and principal to prostitution. Randy Chandler is the latest firefighter to be charged with cruelty to the infirm.

"I think he is upset that all of this has happened and the allegations have been made," said Logan Kerr's lawyer Eric Johnson, who tells KSLA News 12 that Kerr has been cooperating fully with the investigation, and he is now back serving the city of Shreveport at Fire House 19.

"If the investigating agencies and the criminal investigation felt that he had done something criminal than he would already have been arrested is my belief" Eric Johnson, Kerr's attorney, says. Shreveport fire chief Fred Sanders told KSLA that Kerr was suspended on August 3rd when this scandal broke. He returned to work Tuesday, after he was cleared by an internal investigation.

Kerr has not been arrested or charged in this case but he is mentioned a few times in other arrest warrants. In the arrest affidavit, it says: a fire fighter told police he heard Logan Kerr, 'urinated in a glass and having one or both drink the human waste." Kerr's lawyer said: "I can't comment on that because it is an ongoing investigation. I am sure it was part of the investigation and I am sure that allegation was addressed by the internal affairs investigation which he has been cleared of any wrong doing by that investigation."

Kerr is not the only fire fighter that may be involved in this scandal who is going back to work this week. Todd Olague is also back in a fire house. He was put on leave on the same day as Kerr earlier this month. In the same affidavit, Olague is mentioned as one of the fire fighters who was present for the prostitution incident. According to the document, he told investigators that he was not a participant and was in bed.

Both have been cleared by an internal investigation. The investigation into this incident is not over.
