16-year-old arrested in Queensborough double shooting

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A 16-year-old has been arrested in connection with a shooting that injured two people in Queensborough.

The shooting happened on Friday night in the 3400 block of Darien Street. Police say a group of people were walking down the street when they were fired upon by "a group of male suspects with handguns."

21-year-old Demetrius Brooks was shot in the chest and a 17-year-old female as struck in the leg. Both were taken to local hospitals. They are expected to survive.

18-year-old La'Darrius Lee was arrested shortly after the incident at a home about a block away and charged with 2 counts of attempted degree murder.

The male juvenile was taken into custody in the 3600 block of Catherine Street on Monday night, after police say they identified to him through evidence found at the scene.
