SABINE PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

A man who says he is Robert Barthelemy's brother says his brother is innocent.

34-year-old Robert Barthelemy is behind bars in the Sabine Parish Detention Center charged with first degree murder, following the discovery of a body believed to be Tony Procell's. He is also charged with aggravated kidnapping and home invasion.

Police say Procell was taken from his home last Tuesday at gunpoint by Barthelemy, and they say it was all caught on home surveillance video.

"He had anger issues, but I really don't believe in my heart that Robert was capable of doing this," insists Michael Barthelemy. He says Robert was always a strong figure in the family, and that his brother tried to keep him out of trouble.

That's why he has a hard time believing he was capable of murder. "He don't have the ability to hurt nobody to hurt nobody like that, the mentality," says Michael. "He might of went over there to scare the boy because of his wife and kids, but he'd never...I know he didn't kill that boy." he says.

Still, Michael Barthelemy acknowledges that he hasn't seen his brother in about 2 years.

The body was found after Robert Barthelemy's father-in-law came across a shovel freshly caked with mud on land the two used to hunt together on national forest land in Winn Parish.

Michael Barthelemy says he thinks that is a little fishy. Police say they are still investigating everyone in the case, that the investigation is really just beginning. However, they say they do not have any reason to believe at this point  that any other family members of Robert Barthelemy's are involved.

Michael also says he is sorry for the loss of Procell, who he says he met because he and his brother would hang around occasionally. Procell and Robert Barthelemy served together in the Louisiana National Guard.
