WEBSTER PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

A burn ban is now in effect for all of Webster Parish.

Webster Parish Police Jury President issued the order early Thursday afternoon, on the advice from the Fire Chief's Association. The ban will remain in effect until sufficient rainfall has occurred.

Webster becomes the third full parish in Louisiana to be placed under a burn ban due to extremely dry conditions and high risk of wildfire. A burn ban was ordered in Bossier Parish on Wednesday night, and on August 15 in DeSoto Parish.

A burn ban was included for most of southern Caddo Parish last Friday, including fire districts 3, 4, 5 and 6. That includes Greenwood, Keithville, the South Ellerbe area and basically everything from South Lakeshore south.

Marion, Harrison, Panola, Shelby, Nacogdoches, San Augustine and Sabine Parishes are already under burn bans in East Texas.
