Louisiana State Police have released the name of the woman killed Thursday morning in a collision with an 18-wheeler in Bossier Parish.
Investigators say 35-year-old Yvonne Bellew of Doyline was driving west on Louisiana Highway 527 in her 2012 Nissan Sentra just before 8 a.m. when she passed a Mack 18-wheeler going in the same direction as they approached Johnson Koran Road.
At that point, Bellew reportedly appeared as though she was going to make a right turn on to Johnson Korean Rd., but then abruptly turned to the left in front of the Mack. The Nissan was struck by the truck in the driver's side door.
Both Bellew and the truck driver, 44-year-old Scott Wallace of Zwolle, were wearing their seatbelts. Wallace was not hurt. Bellew was trapped in the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
State police say alcohol use is not suspected. A toxicology sample was taken and submitted for analysis. The crash remains under investigation.
