According to Cpl. Jones, 81-year-old Aubrey Sims was driving a PT Cruiser and failed to yield at a stop sign and was struck in the passenger's side by an empty log truck that was heading west on the bypass.

Both Aubrey Sims and his 49-year-old daughter Rhonda were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the log truck, 58-year-old Benny Culpepper of Nashville, AR, was not injured.
