People will soon have more eyes watching them in East Nashville. Metro police are about to activate more of those blue-light surveillance cameras.
They are already a common sight downtown, and have even helped officers spot and solve crimes.
The cameras on the east side of the river will be upgraded thanks to a Department of Homeland Security grant.
They are already up and running on Shelby Avenue, Lafayette and Gallatin Pike, and the rest of the cameras will be activated by the end of the year.
