BOSSIER PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

An Elm Grove man has died after a wreck Monday night in Bossier Parish.

According to Louisiana State Police, it happened just after 8 p.m. on Louisiana Hwy 527 east of U.S. 71.

The troopers' investigation revealed that a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by 47-year-old Delores Parks of Elm Grove was traveling east on Hwy 527 when the vehicle went off the side of the road and continued down an embankment, through a ditch and struck a culvert in a private drive, where it overturned.

Delores Parks was wearing a seatbelt and was taken to a hospital in Shreveport with moderate injuries.

Her passenger, 70-year-old Jerry Parks was not restrained and was thrown from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bossier Parish Coroner's Office.

STate police say alcohol use is not suspected, but as is the standard procedure, a toxicology sample was taken and submitted for analysis. The crash remains under investigation.
