Suspect in toddler homicide moved to Cobb Co. jail

COBB COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

Marietta will be the site of high profile trial in August. Nearly five months to the day De'Marquise Elkins is expected to stand trial for killing Brunswick toddler, Antonio Santiago.

The Cobb County District Attorney's office told CBS Atlanta of the change of venue for De'Marquise Elkins and his mother, Karimah Elkins. 

The judge is Brunswick Superior Court Judge Stephen Kelley according to Cobb County DA. The prosecution will be led by Brunswick District Attorney Jackie L. Johnson. The jury pool will be pulled from Cobb County. Jury selection is expected to begin Aug. 19 for the accused teen.

De'Marquise's mother Karimah is accused of lying to authorities. De'Marquise and Karimah were transferred into the Cobb County jail Aug. 16.
