Tyler police arrest third suspect in park shooting

On Friday, Tyler Police Investigators arrested a third suspect who they say was involved in the P.T. Cole Park shooting on July 30. 

The suspect is identified as Ke'Avier Jarrod Wilson-Hurd, 20, of Tyler. Wilson-Hurd was identified as the shooter who was in P.T. Cole Park and fired numerous rounds at Rakheem Goldstein and Dennis Bendy, the other men arrested in connection with the shooting.

The shooting killed Briana Raquel Young, who was in the park with her three-year-old son when shots broke out.

On Thursday night shortly before midnight, officers responded to the intersection of Trezevant and N. Grand in reference to a man standing in the roadway waving a gun around. Officers located the subject and weapon and identified him as Wilson-Hurd. He was placed under arrest for unlawfully carrying a weapon.

Investigators were notified of the arrest and secured an arrest warrant for murder on Wilson-Hurd. Investigators placed charged Wilson-Hurd with murder while he remained in custody at the Smith County Jail. His bond has been set at $1,000,000.

Bendy and Goldstein were both arrested earlier this week. Goldstein turned himself in on Monday and Bendy on Wednesday.
