AU Tigers hold Thursday practice

The Auburn Tigers held two practices Thursday, dodging the raindrops at the Auburn Athletics Complex practice fields. PGA champion Jason Dufner addressed the team after practice.

"We had a good practice this morning," Coach Gus Malzahn said after the morning workout. "I challenged them, and today they rose to the occasion. I really liked our attitude and liked the way we're flying around. We're learning to practice; that's a big thing."

Malzahn announced that three former walk-ons have been placed on scholarship: defensive back Blake Poole, wide receiver Dimitri Reese and running back Chandler Shakespeare.

Friday, the Tigers hold a single afternoon practice.  Auburn's season opener is Saturday, August 31, at Jordan-Hare Stadium versus Washington State in a 6 p.m. Central kickoff.
