SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

The Caddo Parish Coroner has identified the man whose body was found in the Red River on Friday.

Dr. Todd Thoma says the man is 46-year-old Marvin Eddie Weed, of the 300 block of Albert Avenue in Shreveport.

Weed's body was discovered by a boater around 5 p.m. near the banks of the river south of the Shreveport-Barksdale Bridge. At the time, it was believed the body had been in the water anywhere from 2 to 7 days.

Dr. Thoma says preliminary investigation shows no evidence of foul play, and that the manner of death will be determined after the investigation is complete.
