Firefighters say arson may be to blame for an overnight fire that gutted part of a vacant house in south Caddo Parish. Firefighters from Caddo Fire Districts 4, 5 and 6 responded just before 11:30 p.m. Sunday night to a mobile home at the corner of Keithville-Kingston Road and Big Oaks Trail in Keithville, LA.
Firefighters tell KSLA News 12 when they arrived the back door was found open, but no one was inside. Fire officials tell us no one was supposed to be living at the home and it did not have utilities. The house had reportedly been unoccupied for about a year.
It took firefighters about 30 minutes to get the fire under control. The fire, that burned through the roof, also appears to have gutted half of the mobile home. Caddo fire officials tell us they have notified the Louisiana State Fire Marshal, who will reportedly investigate the blaze as arson.
Fire officials on the scene tell us that one firefighter was taken to Willis Knighton South for dehydration, but the firefighter is expected to be OK.
