SPD: Teens playing with gun ends with one shot in face
A 17-year-old female was shot in the hand and cheek after another juvenile waved what he thought was an unloaded gun in her face.
SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
A Shreveport teenager was arrested Saturday afternoon for allegedly shooting another teen in the hand and face while playing with what he thought was an unloaded gun.
The shooting happened around 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon at a home in the 1700 hundred block of Norton Street in the Martin Luther King neighborhood.
Shreveport Police and witnesses at the scene say a group of teens were sitting on a back porch at the time of the shooting.
Investigators say a male juvenile was waving what he thought was an unloaded gun in the face of a 17-year-old female. The gun had one round in the chamber and fired, striking the teen in the hand and cheek, police said.
She was transported to LSU Health Sciences Center with what police are calling non-life threatening injuries.
The juvenile playing with the gun was arrested and taken to jail. Officers are not sure what he will be charged with because he is a juvenile.
