SFD Assistant Chief Scott Wolverton says there were 24 people on the bus. 9 of them suffered moderate injuries.
SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
KSLA News 12 has obtained surveillance video of a wreck late Friday night involving a Sportran bus and a pickup truck.
12 people were injured, 3 of them critically, in the wreck that happened around 9:40 p.m. in the 4100 block of Greenwood Road.
Shreveport Police say the driver of a Dodge pickup ran a stop sign at Golf Links Boulevard. The bus driver was unable to avoid a collision.
Witnesses and police say the driver of the pickup truck is 13-years-old.
Shreveport Assistant Fire Chief Scott Wolverton says the teen had to be extricated from the truck and taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Two people from the bus, the driver and a person who had been riding up front, were also critically injured and taken to the hospital with head injuries. Wolverton says 9 others were also taken the hospital with moderate injuries.
Wolverton says many of those injured were complaining of head, neck and back pain.
There were 24 people on the bus in all. Those that were not injured were picked up by another Sportran bus.
