The Cass County Sheriff's Office has identified the man arrested Tuesday in the murder of his sister.
59-year-old Jima Anthony Stone is charged with capital murder and aggravated assault with injuries.
According to Sheriff Larry Rowe, deputies responded to a 911 call at 2:22 p.m. Tuesday reporting a disturbance and assault in progress at a home on County Road 2116 in the Antioch Community.
Before deputies arrived on the scene, they say Stone had reportedly assaulted his sister, 60-year-old Deborah Steed and a female friend. The friend went to neighbor's house to call police.
Deputies were told that Stone had knocked his sister out and threw her in the back of his truck. Deputies and other law enforcement agencies began to search, and at 4:05 p.m., they located Stone at an abandoned house on CR 2113. His sister's body was found a short time later in a barn on the same property, a couple hundred yards away.
Sheriff Rowe says Steed had been stabbed to death.
The Cass County District Attorney's Office will review the case Wednesday. Rowe says he expects it to go to a grand jury.
Stone remains in custody at the Cass County Jail without bond on the capital murder charge.
