JONESBOROUGH, TN (WJHL) -

Investigators hope tips will help them find a man they call a serial burglary who has given local police the slip on multiple occasions. Deputies are looking for Mohammad Babamir.

The Tri-Cities resident is accused of a series of crimes.  The Washington County Tennessee Sheriff's Office says he brazenly breaks in homes and has escaped from police custody on several occasions.

"He actually goes up to the door, turns the knob and breaks the lock while their in the house," said Lt. Greg Matherly.  "A lot of victims said, 'I was scared.  I didn't know who was breaking into my home."

Babamir also is accused of kidnapping, selling drugs, forgery, criminal impersonation, resisting arrest and other offenses.

If you know where investigators can find Mohammed Babamir, call the Washington County Tennessee Sheriff's Office at 423-788-1490 or 423-788-1480.
