SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Shreveport Police have arrested a man they believe was behind the wheel of a car that struck a 61-year-old man on Jewella Avenue Friday afternoon that left one man critically injured.

It happened near Murvon Street in Mooretown just before 6 p.m. The victim, identified as Charles McClinton was taken to LSU Hospital. As of late Friday night he was expected to survive.

Less than an hour later, police found what they believe to be the car that struck the man parked at the Windsor Village Apartments in the 1900 block of North Hearne Avenue in North Shreveport.

The windshield on the 1997 Buick is shattered. 33-year-old Labaris Jenkins was taken from a nearby apartment in handcuffs and questioned by police. He was later booked into the Shreveport City Jail on 1 count of hit and run.
