SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A home in South Shreveport has major damage after a massive blaze Thursday evening.

Firefighters from Shreveport and Caddo Parish were called out around 7:30 p.m. to a home on Ellerbe Road off of Norris Ferry Road. When they arrived, they found the home engulfed in flames. Firefighters spent nearly two hours getting the fire under control.

Emergency crews took extra precautions because of the heat and humidity. " We've had a rehab system set up over here with our Caddo Fire District medic unit. We've been running guys in, taking blood pressures, putting Gatorades and fluids in them," says Keith Harris with Caddo Fire District 5.

Fire officials believe the blaze started in the garage at the home.

Fortunately, no one was injured. Fire investigators are still working to figure out what sparked the fire.
