Lane closures at The Banks in effect this week

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

There will be temporary lane closures and possible traffic delays at The Banks this week.

All traffic lanes east and westbound, as well as north and south sidewalks on Pete Rose Way between Broadway and Johnny Bench Way will close at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 30 until 3 p.m. Friday, August 2.

Closures and re-routing of pedestrians and vehicles in the construction area will allow crews to work on lifting the Pete Rose Way pedestrian bridge girder into position.

Pete Rose Way between Broadway and Johnny Bench Way will be closed, but access from Second Street to the LL ramp to Mehring Way as well as all garage parking entrances will be maintained.

Pete Rose Way's complete closure between Johnny Bench Way and Broadway for four days will allow delivery of bridge bearings, positioning of cranes, and the lifting and placing the trapezoidal box girder which will form the new pedestrian bridge. This work is the next step in completing the new pedestrian bridge that crosses Pete Rose Way and abuts to the U.S. Bank Arena with access to Great American Ball Park.

ALTERNATE ROUTES:

  • TO COVINGTON, KY: From Second Street (south) on to Rosa Parks Way or Walnut Street to the newly constructed round-a-bout, and across the Roebling Suspension Bridge.
  • TO NEWPORT, KY: From Second Street (south) onto Joe Nuxhall Way, left (east) on to Mehring Way, then left (west) onto Pete Rose Way, left (south) on to the Taylor Southgate Bridge.
