SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A local man is in custody this afternoon in connection with a triple murder in west Shreveport last week.
Shreveport police say detectives with the Shreveport Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit arrested 57-year-old Tommy Wilson, of the 1000 block of Lafourche Circle, in connection with the July 18, 2013 stabbings that claimed the lives of 78-year-old Irene Ellison, her daughter, 41-year-old Carisa Ellison and 58-year-old Bryan Wilson.
The bodies were discovered last Thursday after Shreveport Police received a frantic 911 call just before 10:00 p.m. from a family member who had come home and found all three victims deceased in the residence.
Shreveport police say their investigators have been "Tirelessly working around the clock in an effort to identify and apprehend the person or persons responsible for this heinous crime."
Based on evidence recovered at the scene of the crime as well as other information gathered during their ongoing inquiry, detectives were able to identify Wilson as the suspect they believe killed the victims.
Wilson, whom police believe is a former boyfriend of Carisa Ellison, was interviewed by authorities and booked into the Shreveport City Jail on three counts of second degree murder. His bond has been set at $1,500,000.
Relatives of victim Bryan Wilson say he is no relation to Tommy Wilson. A fundraiser was held Friday night for Bryan Wilson at the Tight Edge Barber Shop on W. 70th. Those wishing to help with his children with the funeral expenses can contribute to an account now set up at Barksdale Federal Credit Union. Donations can be made at any branch.
Visitation for Irene and Carisa was also held on Friday night. Their funerals are set for Saturday morning at 11 a.m. at Praise Temple Full Gospel Baptist Church on Greenwood Road.
