SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - The battle between the Shreveport Dog Park Alliance and Shreveport's Mayor Cedric Glover continues. Tuesday, the Dog Park Alliance filed a rule for contempt against Mayor Glover.
According to an official statement released by the Dog Park Alliance attorney Dan Keele, Monday was the Mayor's deadline to file for a higher court to review the case. You may recall, the Mayor was ordered by a district court to use money donated by the Red River Waterway Commission to build a dog park at Hamel's Park by June 21st. An appeal by the Mayor extended that deadline to July 22nd but still Mayor Glover has not complied.
Now Keele says,"we believe it is time for the Mayor to appear in court, under oath, rather than confusing the public relations and the legal matter."
KSLA reached out to Mayor Glover but spokesman Rod Richardson said, "The Mayor will decline to comment because this is pending litigation."
