SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

The next superintendent of Caddo Parish schools is expected to be selected and announced on Monday.

After three days of interviews, the Caddo Parish School Board is set to meet behind closed doors on Thursday morning "for the purpose of conducting negotiations with the candidates for the position of Superintendent of Caddo Parish Public Schools."

The board has set a special meeting for Monday, July 29 at 6 p.m., when they will vote and reveal the results.

John Dilworth, a former principal and teacher at Caddo schools throughout the 90s, was the first of three finalists to interview with the school board and the public on Monday. Most recently, Dilworth served as superintendent for East Baton Rouge Parish schools, a position he resigned from twice.

Agnella Perera interviewed on Tuesday. A Louisiana native from the Lake Charles area, Perera recently withdrew her application for a superintendent's job in Florida. She is currently of Isle of Wight county Schools in Smithfield, Virginia, a job she started in 2011.

On Wednesday, Mary Nash Robinson took her turn interviewing with a board she is already very familiar with. Nash is currently the Chief of Staff of Caddo Parish Public schools.

Whoever is selected will replace outgoing superintendent Dr. Gerald Dawkins, whose contract will expire on August 12.

The board made the decision not to renew his contract back in January.
