SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Two men are in facing felony charges in connection with an armed robbery at a North Shreveport shoe store Wednesday morning, and police say they're responsible for at least three other armed robberies in recent weeks.

It happened at the Shoe Show in the 1900 block of North Market Street just before 10:30 a.m. Employees of the store told officers that two men came into the store with their faces partially covered and armed with handguns. They reportedly ordered the clerk to hand over cash from the register before taking off on foot.

There are no reports of any injuries.

Witnesses were able to give officers a description of the two men seen fleeing the store in the direction of the Barton Drive Manor housing complex a few blocks away on Pointe Coupee Drive.

A Shreveport police K9 unit helped lead officers to a home in the 1700 block of Point Coupee. Once they were allowed inside by the owner, police say they found two men who matched "very similar" in description of the pair of suspects described by witnesses to the robbery.

Police say they found clothing items described as being worn by one of the suspects discarded in a trash bin directly behind the home. Two guns of similar description to those used in the robbery were also found, along with separate bundles of cash stashed inside a couch.

19-year-old Frederick McKinley, who lives at that address, and 19-year-old Cardarius O'Neal were taken in for questioning. Police say that during those interviews, they were able to gather additional evidence linking both suspects to at least three other recent armed robberies, all occurring in close proximity to the others.

McKinley and O'Neal both were both booked into the Shreveport City Jail on four counts each of armed robbery.
