SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A Shreveport Police investigation of shots fired Monday led to the arrest of a man later charged a felon in possession of a firearm and other charges.

It all started about 1:30 p.m. when police went to the 200 block of West 80th Street to investigate reports of shots being fired in the area.

Police say the officers who responded learned that Kenneth Wayne Robinson, 28, of Shreveport, was seen running on foot a short distance from where the shots were fired.

They say witnesses reported hearing about five to six shots being discharged. There were no reported injuries.

After a search, officers say they found Robinson inside a home in the 8000 block of Saint Vincent Avenue. He was taken into custody without incident. Officers add that they found a handgun inside the home that they believe was used during the shooting.

Police interviewed Robinson and then charged him with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm six unrelated misdemeanor warrants for varying offenses.

Authorities are not seeking additional suspects in this matter.
