Texarkana man drowns after jumping off SE OK bridge

MCCURTAIN COUNTY, OK (KSLA) -

A Texarkana man has drowned after jumping off a bridge into a southeast Oklahoma river.

It happened just after 3 p.m. Saturday. Oklahoma State Police say 26-year-old Eric Wayne Fant of Texarkana, Texas jumped off of the US 70 Mt. Fork Bridge into the Mt. Fork River just west of Eagletown in McCurtain County and never resurfaced.

His body was recovered by Broken Bow Fire and Rescue. According to OK State Police, Fant was not using a personal floatation device (life jacket).
