Shreveport police say they're ‘combing through evidence' tonight, looking for any clues that might shed more light on the deadly shooting overnight that left a local may lying in the street fatally wounded. In national news, the jury is deliberating in the trial of George Zimmerman. The jury of 6 women were given instructions by Judge Debra Nelson before being sent out of the courtroom at about 1:30 this afternoon to decide whether Zimmerman is guilty of second-degree murder or manslaughter in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. They've since asked the judge for a detailed inventory of all the evidence introduced at the trial.
We are also keeping an eye on the Texas Senate debate on tough new abortion restrictions. Democrats have plans to introduce amendments and add exceptions to the proposed law, but Republican Sen. Dan Patrick has said he'll move to stop a lengthy debate.
