New interim Minden Mayor responds to concerns about criminal history

Shreveport police say they're ‘combing through evidence' tonight, looking for any clues that might shed more light on the deadly shooting overnight that left a local may lying in the street fatally wounded. KSLA News 12 at 6 the latest on the investigation into the city's 13th homicide of 2013, and hear why police say homicides are down compared to a decade ago.

Meanwhile, a Caddo Parish woman is behind bars after deputies say she drove a stolen travel trailer into the lake and then swam away in the dark.

In national news, the jury is deliberating in the trial of George Zimmerman. The jury of 6 women were given instructions by Judge Debra Nelson before being sent out of the courtroom at about 1:30 this afternoon to decide whether Zimmerman is guilty of second-degree murder or manslaughter in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. They've since asked the judge for a detailed inventory of all the evidence introduced at the trial.
