SHREVEPORT-BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -

Bossier Parish Community College and LSU-Shreveport have agreed to allow BPCC students to transfer credits from the school toward a four-year degree at LSU-S.

Bossier Parish Community College Chancellor Jim Henderson and LSU Shreveport Interim Chancellor Paul Sisson signed an alliance agreement Tuesday in the Assembly Room of Noel Memorial Library on the LSU Shreveport campus, One University Place, Shreveport, LA.

The agreement establishes the BPCC @ LSUS program, which will allow students to attend LSU Shreveport but take BPCC developmental and general education courses that will apply to a LSU Shreveport baccalaureate degree.

State Senator Barrow Peacock and State Representative Henry Burns were on hand for the signing and both praised both institutions for partnering to make the Shreveport/Bossier City community united in providing educational opportunities to area students.

The BPCC @ LSUS program is modeled after the BPCC@Grambling which began in October 2010 and the BPCC@NSU program in August 2005.
