New Northwestern State football coach Jay Thomas, many of his staff and other Demon coaches will preview upcoming seasons and greet supporters during the upcoming 2013 NSU Victory Tour, which will stop close to nearly all in-state Demon fans.

A festive and family-friendly environment will be featured on the Victory Tour July 22-Aug. 2 as Northwestern coaches, student-athletes, administrators and cheerleaders visit Winnfield, Shreveport-Bossier, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Alexandria-Pineville, Many, Coushatta and Natchitoches.

"Last year we had great turnouts and this year we are planning to build on the momentum, and we're hoping for lots of new faces to join our events," said NSU athletic ticket manager Kyle Barnard, who coordinates the Victory Tour. "We invite fans around the state to come to the Victory Tour and rise together getting excited about the upcoming 2013-14 athletic year."

The 2013 Victory Tour will start Monday, July 22 in Winnfield at the Don Purser Memorial Scramble and Winnfield Alumni gathering at the Pine Ridge Country Club. The 1 p.m. golf outing is free for those who register in advance, and the post-tournament reception at 6 o'clock will feature a great meal and a few words from NSU coaches. Dinner purchases for $10 and golf spots should be reserved through the NSU Alumni office by calling 318-357-4415 or visiting the www.northwesternalumni.com website.

On Wednesday, July 24, the tour will stop in Baton Rouge at the Crowne Plaza on 4728 Constitution Avenue beginning at 6:30. The event will offer complimentary drinks and a light meal and updates from Demon coaches. It's held in conjunction with the annual Louisiana High School Coaches Association Clinics, with all high school coaches, especially those who are NSU alumni, encouraged to attend.

The Thursday, July 25 Victory Tour stop in Lafayette will be hosted by Walk-On's Bistreaux and Bar at 2336 Kaliste Saloom beginning at 5.

Week two of the Victory Tour will begin in Alexandria at 6 p.m. on Monday, July 29 at Buffalo Wild Wings (2711 South MacArthur Drive).

A night later, the Tour Stop is in Many at 5 o'clock on Tuesday, July 30 at Mid-South Bank downtown at 532 North Courthouse Street.

The traditional Tour-ending event, the Coushatta tour stop, will be held Friday, Aug. 2 at Coushatta Country Club, 822 Bogan Lane, beginning at 6.

All Victory Tour stops will last approximately two hours, including a brief program midway through the receptions featuring Thomas and other NSU coaches in attendance. Door prizes will be awarded at each stop, with schedule cards and other promotional materials available.
