Congratulations to our latest House for Hope winner.
The winning name was drawn Friday from among all of you who contributed to the House for Hope campaign. This is the fifth house we've given away along with the Homebuilders of Northwest Louisiana.
Of course, the reason we do this is to raise money for Community Renewal International. The Shreveport-based charity uses the money to build Friendship Houses.
Those Friendship Houses directly benefit the less fortunate in the ArkLaTex. Many of our neighborhoods are run down, crime ridden and drug infested. The Friendship House is a refuge from all the bad things that can happen. It's a place for children to go after school and during the summer. It's a place for families to go for help.
Contributing to the House for Hope is a way to invest back into our most challenged neighborhoods right here in the ArkLaTex. Thank you for contributing to another successful campaign.
I'm James Smith.
