SABINE PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

A two-year-old was found drowned an above-ground pool in Sabine Parish Sunday afternoon.

Sabine Parish coroner Ron Rivers says it happened at a home in the 4000 block of LA Hwy. 174, a few miles east of Pleasant Hill.

The 911 call came in at 1:33 p.m. after a frantic search for the child that ended with the discovery of her body in the family's above-ground pool.

Rivers says everyone in the home had been taking a nap when the father left to run errands when the little girl, Isabelle Frazier, woke up while her mother was still asleep and went out the front door to the above-ground pool.

It is believed she climbed the ladder and fell in.

When her mother awoke and could not find Isabelle, she called the father to see if he had her. He did not answer right away, but called back later to say he did not have her. The mother than called the grandmother, who lives down the street. The grandmother joined the search, and the father returned home to search as well.

Rivers says it was the child's grandmother that looked outside and found the child's body in the pool.

Her body is being sent to LSU Health in Shreveport for an autopsy, because it was an unwitnessed death.

Rivers is calling it an a tragic accident.
