Nashville Fire Department adds 3 ambulances

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The Nashville Fire Department has three new ambulances that will allow them to respond to more emergency calls.

The new units will be stationed at the 12th Avenue fire station, Station 9 on Second Avenue South and the new Station 11 on 18th Avenue North.

Metro now has 22 ambulances to cover the county.

The best part for taxpayers, funding for the ambulances was from savings from the early retirement plan.
