KSLA News 12 meteorologist and reporter Clay Ostarly is excited to be here in the ArkLaTex, and he is no stranger to Louisiana.
Clay was born and raised in New Orleans, LA and most recently worked in Monroe, LA.
He says his passion for weather started as a young kid. "May 8th, 1995, to be exact. A torrential rain event set up across South Louisiana, which dumped nearly 20" of rain in just under 48 hours. The rain caused major flooding where I was living at the time. No older than 5 years old, I was terrified of weather. I mean horrified! However, it was this flood that caused me to watch the weather channel religiously. As I watched, I learned more and more about weather until, eventually, I wasn't afraid of it anymore. That's how I decided I wanted to be a meteorologist. Now, I live that dream every day! I want to thank you for being a part of that dream. Please, don't hesitate to stop me and chat, especially about anything related to the weather!"
