NATCHITOCHES PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

A tip that drug activity was taking place at a Natchitoches house while children were present led authorities to arrest four people on multiple charges Tuesday and the removal of three children.

Authorities with the Natchitoches Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force say they performed a residential search on two Natchitoches residents who were on parole and probation.

During the search, the agents say they found methamphetamine, suspected clonazepam (a controlled prescription drug), two firearms, and assorted paraphernalia to include digital scales, smoking pipes, and syringes which were found throughout the residence.

Agents also say that they found three young children, one 10-month-old child and two other children of age of 2.

The Office of Children's Services received authorization to place the children into the state's custody "due to the children living in these unsafe conditions."

Evaluations were then conducted on the children.  Authorities say these evaluations led to the discovery that two of the children, the 10-month-old and one two-year-old, tested positive for methamphetamine during their drug screen.

As a result, the four adults were taken into custody and placed in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center on the following charges:
