Wilson Co. SRO, school board member under investigation

LEBANON, TN (WSMV) -

A school resource officer who also happens to be on the Wilson County School Board is off the job and under investigation for theft.

The Wilson County Sheriff's Office has been investigating Greg Lasater for alleged discrepancies in gasoline purchases.

Findings of the investigation will be turned over to the district attorney Friday.

Lasater is a 26-year veteran of the Wilson County Sheriff's Office.

He's an SRO at Winfrey-Bryant Middle School and currently in his third term on the school board.

He's been suspended without pay during the investigation.
